I have incurred a large amount of medical bills due to a deceased daughter that suffered from a brain stem tumor. She died on 1/1/00. I sought treatment in New York and in Baltimore and finally at home in the Virgin Islands. Due to these expenses my credit is poor and I cannot obtain a loan from any lending institution. Therefore I am asking if there is a federal grant program that can assist me with these medical debts that has negatively impacted my credit and if possible assist me with other debts. I am a single parent with a federal job trying to make ends meet.
