My sister was just diagnosed with having a problem with her Thyroid she is 40 in good health and was advised that she may have to have her thyroid removed if they find that there is cancer. Has anyone ever experienced or known anyone with this type of condition? I would appreciate any info. Thank You!!

I have a good friend this happened to, and they removed his thyroid. Thyroid cancers tend to be confined to the thyroid, so the upside is removal is usually a complete cure. The downside is, you have to take meds to replace whatever it is the thyroid is supposed to do, but that seems a fair trade for getting to keep breathing, doesn
