Depending on the cause, you may not be able to cure the rash, but there are many things you can do to calm it down. If it is due to allergy, the cure is to remove yourself from the offending allergen(s). If it is due to some underlying condition, then you need to find the problem before you can hope for a cure.
Creams containing cortisone (hydrocortisol) work for some people, but use sparingly and only for a short time (overuse can cause thinning of skin). I have chronic hives, and one thing which helps a lot is spraying Nasalcrom on them - it is an over-the-counter allergy med designed for spraying into your sinuses. It contains cromolyn, which is a mast cell stabilizing drug, and if the rash is caused by mast cell activity (most allergic rashes are), it helps to calm the mast cells down.
Some other things which people find helpful:
- lotions, gels, creams containing menthol
- Aveeno products
- MSM cream
- tea tree gel or lotion
- Benadryl cream or lotion
- Sarna lotion
