Anaphylaxis is something I suffer from on a somewhat regular basis for years (I have a mast cell disease which is causing it). I always carry at least two epi-pens (emergency shots of epinephrine, which is similar to adrenaline); it is important to have two or more handy because epinephrine only lasts about 20 minutes, and you can start getting into trouble again. Anyone who ever has to use an epi-pen should do so while enroute to the emergency room.
Other things I use to control slow-progressing attacks include Primatene Mist, which contains an inhaled form of epinephrine, liquid dye-free Benadryl, and a cromolyn (Intal) inhaler. If you suffer from repeated anaphylaxis, ask your doctor about these. Sometimes I get into periods where I suffer repeated attacks for days, even months on end, and usually end up on very high doses of steroids (Prednisone) to control them.
