It is very common to hold tension in your neck and back if you are stressed. I get it all the time and it is very uncomfortable. Use a cold compress ( I leave 1 in the freezer) and sit down and relax for a while. Doing this a few times should bring down the swelling you may have.
You may have also pulled a muscle. If it continues for a while you should see a doctor.
