Genuine Sciatica is caused by lateral deviation of the L4 vertebral articular disc and compression of the spinal nerve root.
A condition that can mimic Sciatica is Piriformis Syndrome (PS), which often gets diagnosed under the general label of Sciatica, despite it being the most common cause of this type of pain, not genuine sciatica. PS causes symptoms of pain near the lateral edge of the sacrum and deep in the gluteul muscles (buttocks). If the gluteuls also have trigger points these often refer pain into the low back, buttocks, hamstrings, and occasionally, into the lower leg.
An overly tight Piriformis muscle entraps the Sciatic nerve and causes pain. The simplest solution I can give you is find a well-trained deep muscle massage therapist. Be sure they are experienced because a regular massage therapist often does not do a great job of releasing the Piriformis or the Gluteuls. A good therapist will also teach you how to stretch the piriformis properly.
In the meantime, try this simple stretch: Lie on your back, both knees bent. To stretch the right side Piriformis, cross your right ankle over to your left thigh and rest it just above your left knee. Clasp the fingers of both hands behind your left knee. Pull your left knee toward your left shoulder, stopping when you feel a comfortable (not painful) stretch in the area of your right buttock. Hold for 15-20 seconds, relax, repeat several times. Be sure to keep the piriformis being stretched nice and relaxed while you
