Anyone else have a butcher for a surgeon?

This happened to my mom recently. Maybe it was the same doctor.... Do you live in Michigan by chance? :) She has cancer and was undergoing a procedure while alert with an anaesthetic. The doctor was knife-happy and described everything he was doing, such as "Here comes the needle!" He seemed very weird and wide-eyed like he was on drugs.
