Can you tell me what is wrong? Possible brain surgery, in the works.?

She has since been told that it has tripled in size, and they want to do a biopsy.
They have not said it was a tumor. What could show up like that on an MRI? What does such rapid growth indicate?
Best answer:
many things can show up on an MRI...tumor is definately one of them, another is swelling (which can be caused by many things), bleeding is another, but that is unlikely at this point. Most likely it is a tumor. rapid growth does not necesarily mean that it is malignant (cancerous), benign (non-cancerous) tumors can grow as well. That is what a biopsy will tell the docs, and from there they will look at how possible a surgery is to remove it. First they may have to do radiation to shrink a tumor. but they will fill you in on that when they find out results. To make things easier to understnad when you get results of a biopsy ask if a nurse can be in the room, nurses usually can answer questions in people terms instead of doctor terms like docs do.
Best answer:
cancer nurse
