colon cancer is one of the top three commonest cancers but is usually seen in the older generations, most commonly 60yrs . however if you have a genetic predisposition to it, a mutation in certain genes (eg familial adenopolyposis or hereditary non polyposis colorectal carcinoma) the risk of colon cancer is greater
